THE LEEZ

REVIEWS

If You Want Some, Girl, Where Did You Go?

The Leez have been gigging locally for sometime. The new CD sounds completely different, good boy gone bad and it's great! The first track is reminiscent of Billy Idol and fall between the energetic pop/rock of mod revival and the psychedelic experimentations of Traffic. The Leez are nothing if not rock & roll traditionalists, drawing heavily from British invasion pop, psychedelia, soul, R&B, and blues-rock to create a reverential homage to classic rock. Their devotion to trad rock may have earned them decidedly mixed reviews, but should also earn them a sizeable following. Each song has something different to say and Girl is reminiscent of a dancier version of Astronomy Domine by Pink Floyd. Where Did You Go? is reminiscent of something from Deep Purple's House of Blue Light. The Leez combine some of the best elements of the 60s psychedelia and 70's rock. Rocking The Empire

Well, what can I say, what a full blast, what a thrilling experience! Travelling to the famous Shepherds Bush Empire that evening in December 2005, was the best choice I had made for a long time. The Leez performed a rocking 30 minutes show with a pushing energy in every corner of the stage. The well playing guitarist, the enthusiastic drummer and the swinging keyboard player appealed to my feet to keep stamping the floor. And what about the lead singer? Oh yes, Jason Lee has certainly got it! It's plain to see. His energetic performance bending his knees and rocking the mike turned the audience straight on. His unique voice lifted the pop rocking songs like Move On and If You Want Some to be potential hits with the right label. And getting to the slow ones, Jason Lee's clear voice drifted upon the tunes to go straight to the heart of everyone. Needless to say, people screamed for more Lars Paaske, Journalist & Presenter, Denmarks Radio P4
